ALL PARENTS!
There are several different things I wish to address here, they are as follows:
Area #1:
You are probably somewhat concerned that the so called American Dream is Dead! My response, "Yes and No>"I don't think that the American Dream is necessary dead but things have greatly changed. I have owned my home for many years BUT in truth I have never owned it. I have always controlled it BUT owned it, not now, not yet. And the drop dead truth of the matter is this: No one ever truly owns a home in America. You may have paid for it in full (about three times more than it originally costed), but what about the annual taxes! Don't pay it for a few years or less and you will see what I mean when I say not ever.
Area #2:
Your retirement may be from a defined Benefit Retirement program but chances are your children and grandchildren will never see this kind of retirement.
Area #3:
The old days, of here is your bill, you can pay it on your way out, without checking the numbers, ... they are also gone!
